Foreign

The concept of illegal immigration has always been controversial. Some people will have sympathy regarding illegal immigrants, while others will go on and tell them to "enter legally" if they're scared of being deported. The thing is, most of those people don't really understand anything about immigration and likely never will.
A majority of the immigrants that come over from foreign countries come to seek asylum or come for better opportunities for their families. A very very small percentage of people actually come here to create mayhem. But for some reason, those people seem to overshadow everyone else who came with nothing but hope in mind.
In the mind of the ignorant, becoming a citizen is easy. In reality, it's not. It costs hundreds, sometimes even thousands, of dollars to get paperwork done and it takes an insanely long time for those that don't have anyone here to take them in. For some, it takes as little as a few months, but for others, it can take almost 3 decades to get any sort of response about their status.
People don't immigrate just for the hell of it. They do it for a reason, and most of the time, they're for harmless reasons. If you're bigoted enough to believe that everyone crossing the border is doing it to come after jobs that only "Americans should have", you got another thing coming. Most of them don't come for that. If you want more proof of that, just look it up. You've got information at your fingertips. It's up to you whether you actually want to read about it or just act like it doesn't exist. Either way, it's there.
